Bichectomy or cheek surgery is a surgical procedure that removes a structure known as Bichat fat pad, which in some cases can make a person to look like not in harmony with the facial balance and overweight. The procedure involves making an incision in the oral mucosa- inside the mouth at the level of the second molars. It can be done with local or under general anesthesia and may require a few stitches.There are rarely reported pain and/or discomfort after the surgery.
